Description

LAUNCH F18 is delighted to present New York based artist, Adam Sultan in its online Viewing Room.  We are thrilled to feature a selection of recent paintings, highlighting Sultan’s intuitively colorful, and uniquely expressive abstract paintings.  Recent Paintings will be online for viewing from August 18 - October 8, 2022.

For Recent Paintings, Sultan has organized a pairing of new works that capture the artist’s diverse and brilliantly bold painting style.  Building upon the lineage of abstract, and expressionistic painting, Sultan uniquely brings his own intensely personal energy to color, form and mark making.  Though these works are confined by the edges of the canvas, they capture a remarkable sense of depth, and captivating vastness.

Although Sultan captures a variety of abstract styles, his work consistently contains a light, and almost magic like quality to his use of paint.  Utilizing the medium that in a way displays not just color or expression, but the alchemy of it as well.  As a result, the moments created within Sultan's work open the possibilities of painting to be as free as possible, and leaves space for Sultan's voice and the medium itself to balance together as one.

Adam Sultan received his BA from Boston University and his MFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. He has shown recently with Four A.M. and the Ace Hotel Gallery in New York, as well as Reynolds Gallery in Richmond, VA.  Sultan lives and works in New York, NY.
